5.1 Activity data timeframes

Studio data :

Energy, business travel, equipment, staff catering, etc.
Data must be entered for each full calendar year (from 1 January to 31 December).

  • Current and futur years: to be entered at the beginning of the year, based on the consolidated data from past year (e.g. for 2024, use validated dat from 2023).
    → year N = year N-1
  • Past year: to be entered once the year has ended, based on data consolidated as of 31 December.

Production data :

Work groups, purchases, external services, etc.
The data covers the entire effective duration of the production, across all studios and departments involved.

  • To prepare a forecast carbon footprint assessment: Enter data based on budget estimates or schedules. This allows you to produce a projected carbon footprint assessment required by legal authorities (such as the CNC in France – for preliminary authorization or investment approval).
  • To generate an actual carbon footprint report: finalize the data entry once production is complete, using measured and consolidated data. This allows you to produce the final carbon footprint report for the production.

IMPORTANT: for the carbon footprint of a production to be calculated correctly, all studios associated with the production must have a valid and complete dataset (Forecast or Actual) covering the entire production period.

If a studio is associated with the production but no data is entered for the relevant period, the calculation will be blocked or inaccurate.
